's art contest. It was a lot of fun doing this. Enjoy

Starburst: *Returns home late at midnight from her royal captain guard duty. Opens door gently leaving a creak sound*. *Enters her home and closes door behind her. Then she tiptoes into the living room, finding a sleeping Prism on the couch. Kisses his forehead* Goodnight, Prizzy.

Prism: *snores loudly*

Starburst: *tiptoes to her bedroom*

????: Mom! Is that you?

Starburst: *stops and enters room.* Striker. What are you doing awake right now? It's late and you have school tomorrow.

Striker: I know, but I couldn't sleep. I was worried about you.

Starburst: Aww. *smiles* You don't have to worry about me. *pets hair* Ill always be here. With you and your father.

Striker: Thanks mom. Can you.... Read me something?

Starburst: Sure... Like what?

Striker: *pulls out book from under pillow* This.

Starburst: *reads* Classic Daring Do Adventures. This is like 200 pages.

Striker: I know. I try reading it by myself but I always miss every word or sentence when reading it. So Grandma Rainbow or Grandpa Soarin read it to me. And Daring Do is my favorite. Just like Grandma when she was younger.

Starburst: So... You want me to read it to you?

Striker: Yeah. *frowns* is something wrong, Mom?

Starburst: No, no. It's just... I never read a book out loud to anyone before.

Striker: Well, all moms do it.

Starburst: Why didn't you ask your dad?

Striker: I did. But he then forgot and fell asleep.

Starburst: Grr... Prism..

Striker: But I'm glad you can.

Starburst: Well... Uhh..

Striker: *holds hoof* It's ok, Mom. It's just me.

Starburst: *sighs* Ok. If it'll make you sleep.

Striker: *tucks in blanket*

Starburst: *opens book and flips through pages* Chapter one: Introduction....

********* Few Chapters later**********

Starburst: ... Then Daring Do jumped over the flaming lava and snatched the medallion from the jaws of the Three Headed Dragon. Then he- *looks over at Striker, watching the pages* Do you wanna to help me, son?

Striker: Ok... *nervously* Daring Do then.. Grabbed all the j.. Jewels and escaped the.. T-Tunnel.. Just in time for her escape..

Starburst: *smiles* See, you are good at this. By yourself.

Striker: Hey, you're right. *continues reading with Starburst*

***** Moments later*****

Starburst: The medallion was safe and once again, Daring Do saved the day. The End.. *closes book* Hmm... That was a good book. No wonder both of your grandmas like Daring Do so much.. *looks over at sleeping Striker on her chest*

Striker: Zzzzzzzzz....

Starburst: *tucks Striker into bed* *Gently pets hair and kisses forehead* Good night, Striker... *Gets up and puts book under his pillow*

Striker: *quickly grabs her hoof* Wait Mom..

Starburst: ......

Striker: *opens one eye* Thank you for the story, Mom. I learned a lot from you. You're the best mom ever. *yawns* I love you Mom...

Starburst: *tears up a bit* I love you more, Striker. *hugs Striker tightly*

Striker: ...... Promise you won't let go.. *hugs more tight*

Starburst: Promise...*nuzzles her son*

Striker: *smiles and nuzzles his comforting mother* ...
